Job summary

The Orchards at Northwest in Detroit, MI is seeking an MDS Coordinator to join our nursing team. The role focuses on coordinating MDS processes, education, and documentation in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

You will conduct new hire orientations, provide ongoing education to the nursing staff, participate in leadership meetings, and maintain competency records while protecting resident confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Valid RN or LPN license.
• Experience with skilled nursing facilities survey process and regulations is helpful.
• Prior nurse management or education experience preferred.
• Long term care experience required.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
• Must be highly organized, professional and motivated.
• Solid computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player and friendly.

Responsibilities

• Conducting New Hire Orientation for all new hires to the facility
• Conducting ad hoc and scheduled educations to nursing department and all staff as needed
• Participate in the on-call rotation for the nursing team as needed
• Attend and participate in leadership meetings daily, monthly, weekly, as needed
• Work to maintain competency and education records for all nursing and CNA staff
• Informing DON of persistent issues related to non-compliant documentation
• Protecting the confidentiality of Resident & Facility information at all times
