Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) to advance nursing education and professional growth across the system.

The NPDS will lead education programs, assess learning needs, and collaborate with interprofessional teams to improve patient care quality and outcomes. A Master's degree in nursing is required, with enrollment in a Master's program and completion by 6/1/2027 expected. Some travel to YNHHS entities may be needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing is required.
• Enrollment in a Master's program with degree completed by 6/1/2027 is required.
• 3–5 years of active nursing experience; 1 year of teaching or staff development preferred.
• RN licensure in CT/RI and board certification within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Educates, develops, and evaluates nursing education programs.
• Assesses learning needs based on regulatory requirements and staff needs.
• Supports nursing leadership development and role development.
• Represents nursing in interprofessional learning activities.
• Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Designs competency-based orientations.
