Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to implement and evaluate educational programs that advance nursing competencies. The role involves daily staff collaboration, mentoring, and ensuring regulatory compliance across units.

Collaboration with CPS and multidisciplinary teams is essential to drive patient care excellence. Located in Boston area with multiple sites, the PDS contributes to orientation, staff development, and evidence-based practice

Qualifications

BSN required for PDS I; MSN required for PDS II.
Current RN license in MA and/or NH.
3 years of clinical nursing experience and 1 year of oncology experience.
Professional certification required (NPD-BC, Oncology-specific, or other relevant) within 3 years of hire.
Experience in nursing education or staff development preferred.

Responsibilities

Implement and evaluate educational programs that support nursing staff development.
Address daily staff questions on clinical issues and competency development.
Mentor nurses and collaborate with CPS and multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality initiatives.
Coordinate orientation for new employees and monitor progress.
