Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a Professional Development Specialist I to lead and evaluate nursing education programs, mentor staff, and ensure regulatory compliance. This role collaborates with nurse navigation and NPCS to enhance clinical practice and staff competency.

The PDSI will develop education strategies, coordinate orientation, and drive evidence-based practice across units, aligning with ANCC standards and Dana-Farber's mission.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Current RN license in Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire as job requires.
• 3 years of clinical nursing experience and 1 year of oncology experience.
• Experience in nursing education or staff development preferred.
• Professional certification required (NPD-BC, Oncology-specific, or other relevant certification) within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops and evaluates educational programs to support nursing staff development.
• Addresses daily staff education needs and mentor staff on clinical competencies.
• Collaborates with Professional Development Specialists and NPCS to improve nursing practices and patient outcomes.
• Coordinates orientation schedules, preceptors, and staff development activities.
• Supports ANCC Accredited Provider Unit and maintains education records.
