Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Nursing Professional Development Generalist to oversee professional development across assigned units. The role assesses learning needs, designs evidence-based education, and leads onboarding to ensure clinical competence and alignment with safety priorities.

The NPDG supports shared governance, partners with NPDS and leadership, and ensures documentation and regulatory compliance while advancing quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSN required with at least 5 years of nursing practice.
• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification in a relevant specialty within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize learning needs using data from quality metrics and competency assessments.
• Design and implement education plans aligned with goals and regulatory standards.
• Lead onboarding and orientation for new nurses with mentorship plans.
• Oversee ongoing competency assessment and continuing education programs.
• Serve as clinical practice resource and consultant to staff and leaders.
• Incorporate ANA and ANCC standards into education and practice.
• Coordinate certification programs (BLS/ACLS/PALS) with proper documentation.
