Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Generalist (NPDG) to support learning and professional development across assigned units. You will assess staff needs, plan evidence-based education, and lead onboarding and competency initiatives under nursing leadership.

Responsibilities include designing education plans, coordinating orientation, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Strong collaboration with NPDS, directors, and managers is essential for improving patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program with at least 5 years of progressive nursing practice.
• Massachusetts RN license and BLS current status.
• Certification in a relevant specialty or practice area (or within 6 months).
• Role and Unit coverage preferred; teaching experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and prioritizes learning and practice needs using quality metrics, competency data, and regulatory requirements.
• Designs and implements evidence-based education plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Leads onboarding and orientation programs for new nursing staff.
• Oversees ongoing competency assessment and continuing education programs.
• Serves as clinical practice resource and consultant to staff and leaders.
• Integrates professional standards, ANA codes, and regulatory requirements into practice.
• Facilitates interprofessional education and practice initiatives.
• Maintains program records and certifications for compliance.
