Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to lead education initiatives for nursing case management staff. The role partners with clinical leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to identify learning needs, promote competency, and align with organizational goals.

Applying adult learning principles, you will develop curricula, plan for ongoing staff development, and evaluate outcomes to improve patient care and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program and a Master’s degree in nursing.
• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS instructor certification highly desired.
• National certification in Professional Development (ANCC) strongly desired.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible duties in clinical nursing practice; prior teaching/education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies educational needs with stakeholders and prioritizes based on organizational goals.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based curricula and learning activities.
• Collaborates with interprofessional teams to promote competency and improve patient outcomes.
• Uses adult learning theory to tailor content and assess learning impact.
• Coordinates education initiatives and evaluates staff performance and development.
