Boston Medical Center seeks a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to lead the continuum of learning and development that supports competent practice and improves patient care. The role partners across departments to implement evidence‑based education, residency and certification programs, and practice transitions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing and at least 5 years of progressively responsible duties in clinical nursing practice.
• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts; Basic Life Support (BLS) required; certification in a relevant specialty within 6 months.
• Preferred teaching experience and role/unit coverage.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive learning needs assessments and analyzes data from quality metrics and outcomes.
• Designs evidence-based education curricula, competencies, orientation, and residency programs.
• Coordinates onboarding, in‑service, continuing education, and certification activities.
• Evaluates program effectiveness using reliable measures and maintains regulatory documentation.
• Supports practice change and quality improvement initiatives across departments.
