Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, a 183-bed acute care facility, seeks a director to lead daily nursing operations. The role oversees the nursing staff, partners with hospital leadership, and ensures high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

The Director will manage staffing, budget processes, and performance improvement initiatives, while collaborating with physicians and administration to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency. Texas RN license required.

Qualifications

• Texas RN license required.
• Previous charge or supervisory experience.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certified.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Refer to Nursing Policy IV-F.3.

Responsibilities

• Oversee that all staff carry out duties safely, timely, compassionate and efficient patient care.
• Assist Administrators in annual budget preparation and monitor operating budget.
• Apply knowledge and perform timely evaluations, coaching and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with physicians to improve patient experience and flow, staffing and operations.
• Communicate with physicians and management to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Ensure policy/procedures are followed and regulatory compliance maintained.
• Promote a safe environment for staff and patients.
• Maintain high quality patient care and implement warranted changes.
• Work toward achieving quality metrics in all departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
