Job summary

CASA is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead nursing services in the facility, overseeing professional and auxiliary staff, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and driving quality of care. The DON will develop policies, manage budgets with the Facility Administrator, coordinate training and quality improvement initiatives, and ensure patient care standards in collaboration with leadership.

• RN licensure in the state; graduate nursing degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with long-term care; 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills and servant leadership approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement philosophy, objectives, policies and standards of nursing practices aligned with facility goals.
• Monitor nursing care to ensure fair, kind, dignified treatment for all residents.
• Develop and update policies and procedures and oversee the quality assurance program for nursing.
• Complete daily rounds to assess resident needs and care adequacy.
• Collaborate with Facility Administrator to budget for Nursing Services.
• Maintain public and professional relationships with residents, families, physicians and community.
• Oversee nursing staff and coordinate meetings and communications.
• Develop long- and short-term plans for the department.
• Participate in committees (e.g., Patient Care Policy, Infection Control, Safety, QI).
• Assess admissions and coordinate infection control per company policies and regulations.
