Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee nursing services and the Therapy Department with authority and accountability for resident care 24/7. The DON will supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, participate in interdisciplinary teams, and drive staffing, budgeting, and quality initiatives across the facility.

Qualified candidates hold a current RN license, have at least one year in nursing administration, and possess solid knowledge of long-term care regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, valid Nursing License as a registered professional nurse in good standing in the state.
• Minimum one year of experience in nursing service administration; additional rehab/geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state, federal and local regulations relating to long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing services and supervise the Therapy Department and its functions 24/7.
• Lead and participate in an interdisciplinary team; ensure resident care quality and regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, interview, supervise, and discipline nursing staff; ensure adequate staffing for each unit/shift.
• Coordinate resident services through departmental and staff committee meetings; plan staff development programs.
• Monitor documentation and ensure it accurately reflects nursing care and resident responses.
