Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine's Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. invites skilled nurses to join as a Patient Flow Coordinator (Nursing Coordinator). This role oversees nursing services to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care and acts as a clinical and operational resource for staff.

You will monitor throughput, quality and safety metrics, support care planning and staffing, and drive improvements to bed utilization and throughput, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • BSN required and DC RN licensure.
  • Current CPR Upon Hire required.
  • Five years of nursing experience.

As a not-for-profit, full-service, 318-bed community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, obstetric, oncology and orthopedic treatment, intensive care, skilled nursing inpatient services and a state-of-the-art 24-hour emergency department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and The Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center.

What You Will Do:

The Patient Flow Coordinator (Nursing Coordinator) oversees and coordinates nursing services to ensure safe, efficient, and patient‑centered care. Serves as a clinical and operational resource for nursing staff, supports care planning and staffing activities, and facilitates communication among interdisciplinary teams. Monitors patient flow, quality and safety metrics, and compliance with regulatory standards, and implements process improvements to enhance outcomes and staff satisfaction. Improves hospital throughput of ED admits, Direct Admits, Surgical Admits, increases inpatient bed utilization, and reduces patient or bed turnaround delays.

Who Should Apply:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
  • Current District of Columbia Registered Nurse licensure Required

  • Five (5) years of nursing experience required

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
