Cecil-College is seeking a part-time, in-person Nursing Skills Lab Coordinator to manage clinical practice labs, coordinate scheduling among nursing and Health Care Careers, and supervise students during skills practice.

The role includes evaluating student performance in clinical test-outs, supporting instructors, developing simulated lab experiences, maintaining equipment and supplies, and mentoring students while attending faculty meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; master's degree preferred.
• Five years minimum as registered nurse; teaching/simulation preferred.
• Current unencumbered RN license in Maryland or multistate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of the clinical practice labs among nursing and Health Care Careers.
• Supervise and assist students in practicing nursing skills.
• Act as a resource person for students using the clinical labs during open practice hours.
• Evaluate student performance in clinical test-outs.
• Provide supplemental student support and supervision of clinical skills for referred students.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop new simulated laboratory experiences for students.
• Mentor students in professional development by role modelling appropriate behavior and critical thinking.
• Coordinate scheduling of students for test outs and workshops.
• Maintain hi-fidelity mannequins (inventory, ordering, storage, cleaning).
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of all supplies/equipment in labs.
• Collaborate to identify needed equipment and software and submit requests.
• Develop and revise lab usage policies with faculty.
• Attend scheduled nursing faculty meetings and related group meetings.
• Keep abreast of clinical issues and teaching methods for the clinical learning lab.
• Evaluate student performance formatively and summatively.
• Submit evaluations and documentation as due.
• Participate in accreditation processes as necessary.
