Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing and unencumbered Maryland nursing license.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years full-time clinical nursing experience.
• Prior college teaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with information tech (word processing, email, databases).
• Ability to work with students with disabilities (ADA) and coordinate with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Convey course material to meet instructional objectives.
• Complete course assessments if requested by Department Chairperson.
• Ensure course material is available via Cecil College LMS from day one.
• Meet program requirements for externships and capstone supervision.
• Hold classes for assigned hours; notify if urgent absence occurs.
• Be reasonably accessible to students by email or in person.
• Hold office hours at least 30 minutes per week.
• Develop and implement lesson plans and activities (lectures, videos, demonstrations).
• Teach specified hours per week as assigned and assist with remediation.
• Document attendance and grades in the LMS; submit end-of-term records promptly.
• Use College email for communications and monitor daily.
• Other duties as assigned.
