Job summary

Ocean County College is seeking a qualified Nursing Clinical Instructor to provide clinical and laboratory instruction for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in the designated clinical area.

The instructor will plan, implement, and evaluate student laboratory practice, coordinate with agency staff for facility orientation, and maintain records of student progress. The role requires a Master's in Nursing and NJ RN license, with at least one year of clinical and teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• RN license issued by the State of New Jersey required.
• Ability to pass physical exam, drug screening, and immunizations as required by clinical sites.
• At least one year of recent clinical experience.
• At least one year of clinical teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and college laboratory instruction.
• Arranges with agency staff for orientation to facility and assigned clinical area.
• Prepares, plans and posts weekly clinical assignments to reflect ongoing classroom content using OCC School of Nursing forms.
• Develops critical thinking and reasoning skills during the clinical day and post-conference.
• Uses conference forms to record student conferences about practice deficiencies.
• Refs students with deficiencies to School of Nursing Skills Lab.
• Maintains weekly records of students' progress and formally evaluates practice behaviors.
• Maintains open communication with the Director of Clinical Instruction and section leader; reports unsafe student practice immediately.
• Maintains clinical expertise and serves as a professional nursing role model.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
