Job summary

Technical College of the Lowcountry is seeking Clinical Nursing Adjunct Instructors for Hampton, Beaufort, and New River Campuses!

Responsibilities include hands-on and theory instruction, clinical management of students, and the preparation of reports, documentation, and evaluations. Minimum qualifications require a BSN, SC licensure, and BLS with at least two years in specified areas; Master's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required and SC Nursing License with at least two years in LTC, Mental Health, Med-Surge, or Maternal Child nursing.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Ability to participate in clinical facilities and maintain records.
• Commitment to clinical supervision and student assessment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Instruction including hands-on and theory, clinical management of students, and administrative tasks that may include reports, clinical documentation, and student evaluations.
• Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis.
• Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
• Direct supervision of students in a variety of clinical settings.

Instructional Development

• Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
• Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.
• Prepare reports in cooperation with Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the College or program.

Professional Development

• Attend relevant professional meetings.
• Represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.
• Maintain frequent communication with nursing faculty (or course coordinators).

Minimum and Additional Requirements

• REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in nursing is required. South Carolina Nursing License required with a minimum of two years experience in Long Term Care, Mental Health, Med-Surge, or Maternal Child Nursing. Must have current BLS certification. Must meet all requirements for clinical participation per clinical facility.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED: Masters Degree in Nursing
