The Technical College of the Lowcountry is seeking an instructor to teach world and American history to students across programs. The role requires delivering instruction, developing syllabi and assessments, and maintaining comprehensive student records.

Candidates should have a Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in history and familiarity with online learning management systems.

Job Duties

Teaching Responsibilities

Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.

Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis.

Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

Instructional Development

Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.

Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.

Prepare reports in cooperation with the Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the college or programs

Professional Development

Attend relevant professional meetings.

Represent the college positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Unofficial transcripts are required when applying.

Official transcripts preferred.

Working knowledge of internet and adaptability to online Learning Management Systems highly recommended.
