Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Labor and Deliver unit. This part-time day-shift role supports nurses and care teams, providing patient-focused care and ensuring comfort and safety for mothers and newborns.

You will take vitals, assist with transport and meals, and help maintain a clean, safe environment under supervision. CPR certification and Nurse Aide credentials are required or in-progress BSN consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association is required.
• Must meet one of: Nurse Aide in hospital; Nurse Aide program certification; BSN enrollment (junior year or practicum).

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient focus under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Measure and record temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients.
• Collaborate with nurses and ICU staff to support patient care.

This is a part time day shift position, 7:00 am- 3:15 am, 5 shifts in a 2 week period, every other weekend, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.

Description

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association is required

Must Meet One Of The Following

• Previous Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting
• Certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program
• Current enrollment in a BSN program - at the junior year level and/or completion of at least one clinical practicum
