Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Emergency Department, night shift. You will support RNs and patient care teams, monitor vital signs, assist with meals and safe patient transport, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, Nurse Assistant certification, BLS, and good communication. This is a full-time night role with on-site shift hours and a strong focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification from an approved Nurse Assistant training program.
• Enrollment in a BSN program with at least 1 clinical rotation.
• Current BLS Training from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
• Assist with meals, transport, and bedside care under supervision of a RN.
• Provide compassionate patient-focused care and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with RNs and techs to maintain smooth department operations.
• Support patient comfort and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care
This a full-time night position (11:45PM-7:45AM) at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, 3 weekend a month is required

Preferred Criteria

• Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience as a nurse’s aide in a hospital.

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current
• Enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation
• Current BLS Training from the American Heart Association
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills
