Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Nursing Attendant for Post Partum 5SB in the Evening shift. The role supports nurses and ICU technicians, monitors vital signs, assists with meals and safe transport, and contributes to a compassionate patient experience in a fast-paced post-partum unit.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and CPR training; Nurse’s Aide experience or related certification or BSN program enrollment is expected.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association required.
• Nurse’s Aide experience, or Nurse Aid certification, or BSN program enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients.
• Assist with meals delivery and safe patient transport.
• Provide comfort and caring at the bedside as part of the care team.
• Record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure.

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This is a full time evening shift position, 3:00pm- 11:15 pm, 5 shifts per week, every other weekend, located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association is required

Must Meet One Of The Following

• Previous Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting
• Certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program
• Current enrollment in a BSN program - at the junior year level and/or completion of at least one clinical practicum
