Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Central Nursing Service on a 37.5 hour day shift. You will assist in implementing the nursing process under supervision of an RN, ensuring a safe, orderly patient care environment and smooth unit operations.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Certified Nursing Attendant program or 6 months relevant experience, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification issued by the American Heart Association is required on entry to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission/transfer/discharge of patients and orient them to the hospital environment.
• Conduct patient rounds for toileting, comfort, safety and personal needs.
• Prepare bedside units and assist with meals, hygiene, and basic treatments.
• Support RN with procedures, safety, and documentation; respond to alarms and patient needs promptly.
