Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Central Nursing Service on the Evening Shift (37.5 hours). You will assist in implementing the nursing process, provide direct and indirect patient care, and help maintain a safe, orderly environment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include patient admissions/ transfers/ discharges, rounds for basic care, assisting with meals, hygiene, and simple procedures, and reporting changes to the RN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the nursing process through direct and indirect patient care.
• Maintain safe, orderly patient care environment and unit.
• Conduct patient rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort, safety, and needs.
• Prepare bedside units, assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and escorts as needed.
• Take vital signs and document I/O as directed by RN.
