Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Per Diem Nursing Attendant for Centralized Nursing Service (23 hours per month). You will assist in implementing the nursing process, perform direct and indirect patient care under an RN, and help maintain a safe, organized patient environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, CNA program completion or 6 months relevant experience, and BLS/CPR certification. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for this patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge, orienting patients to the hospital. Ensure patient safety and privacy.
• Perform rounds for toileting, comfort, safety, and basic needs; respond to call lights promptly.
• Assist with simple treatments, hygiene, meals, and basic nursing tasks under RN supervision.
• Move, position, and transport patients; document vital signs and intake/output as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe unit and participate in team communications and meetings.
