Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the Central Nursing Service on the Day Shift (37.5 Hours). You will support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with admissions, rounds, hygiene, meals, and basic treatments to maintain a safe, compassionate care environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a Nursing Attendant program or at least 6 months of related experience, plus CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission/transfer/discharge and orient patients in hospital.
• Take patient rounds for toileting, comfort, safety and needs; respond to calls promptly.
• Perform basic hygiene tasks and assist with meals, mobility, and daily activities.
• Prepare bedside units, assist with transfers, and safeguard patient belongings.
• Record vitals and report abnormalities to the RN.
