Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital is seeking a nursing associate (temporary) to provide high-quality direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role focuses on daily living activities, safety, and patient comfort.

Enrolled nursing students in accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate RN programs are required, with proof of ongoing enrollment and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a professional nursing student in an accredited RN program.
• Provide proof of current enrollment at the completion of each semester.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists all assigned patients with activities of daily living in a timely manner.
• Safely transports patients to tests and procedures and escorts for discharge.
• Records patient temperatures, pulse, respiratory rate, BP, intake/output, weight, and abdominal girths.
• Observes and reports changes in patient condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities as assigned.
• Answers patient call bells and relays messages to staff.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Assists with personal hygiene and patient comfort measures.
• May act as a sitter for a patient as assigned.
