Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital invites applications for a nursing associate position. This temporary role is designed for current nursing students and supports direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Scheduled to work 12 hours per week as a non-exempt position, the role includes assisting with activities of daily living, transfers, examinations preparation, and maintaining a safe environment. Must maintain enrollment and obtain BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a professional nursing student in a Diploma Program, Associate, or Baccalaureate RN program of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Must provide proof of current, continuing enrollment at the completion of each semester.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living per need in a timely manner.
• Safely transports patients to tests and procedures and escorts for discharge.
• Records temperatures, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, intake/output, weight.
• Notifies RN of patient concerns or changes in condition immediately.
• Assists RN with admission, transfer, discharge, and routine patient care duties.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient-related activities.
• Answers patient call bells and relays messages.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Assists with personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• May act as a sitter for a patient as assigned.
