Job summary

PCH Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV, is seeking a Nursing Associate/Patient Care Tech for its Float Pool. This temporary, part-time position supports direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision and requires RN program enrollment and BLS completion within 30 days.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, transporting patients, taking vital signs, and maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as nursing student in Diploma/Associate/Baccalaureate RN program.
• Proof of ongoing enrollment required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living for assigned patients.
• Safely transport patients to tests and procedures and escort for discharge.
• Record patient vitals and document changes for RN review.
• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse.
• Assist RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general care duties.
• Assist in specimen collection and other patient care tasks.
• Answer call bells and relay messages to staff.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
• Provide personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• May serve as sitter when assigned by RN in charge.

This role performs high quality, cost effective direct and indirect patient care similar to those of a patient care tech-non-certified, including personal, physical and comfort needs of patients, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:****EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. Must be enrolled as a professional nursing student in a Diploma Program, Associate, or Baccalaureate RN program of an accredited School of Nursing.* Must provide proof of current, continuing enrollment at the completion of each semester. Examples of acceptable documentation include a transcript and next semester schedule or a confirmation letter from the school.2.
