Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a professional nursing student in a Diploma/Associate/Baccalaureate RN program.
• Must provide proof of continued enrollment at the completion of each semester.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Safely transports patients to tests and procedures and escorts for discharge.
• Records vitals and intake/output.
• Observes and reports patient concerns to a registered nurse.
• Assists RN with admission, transfer, discharge, and general care duties.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities.
• Answers patient call bells and relays messages to staff.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
• Assists with personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• May act as a sitter for assigned patients.
