Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - York is seeking a Nursing Assistant for PRN/Per Diem night shifts at our York location, inside UPMC Memorial. The role offers 12-hour shifts and $20.00 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends.

We provide extensive orientation and opportunities for advancement within a values‑driven team. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (3+ years of related work), hospital NA experience or CNA certification, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years of relevant work experience).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification/related field experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing using basin-less products and assist with oral hygiene.
• Assist with hourly rounds and monitor patient comfort and safety.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving patients in wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep patient rooms clean and organized and restock supplies as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by nursing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair


• Participate in hourly rounds


• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs


• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs


• Keep patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition


• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed


• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)


• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)


• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
