Select Specialty Hospital - Gulfport is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronically ill patients. Our Nursing Assistants (NA) play a central role in compassionate, high-quality care every step of the way.

The Nursing Assistant (NA) position in Gulfport, MS offers a PRN/Per Diem night schedule (7:00 pm to 7:30 am, 12-hour shifts) with compensation of $18.65 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; relevant work experience considered.
• Certif ication as a nursing assistant or hospital experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less bath products and assisting with oral hygiene.
• Assist with feeding and hair care for patients.
• Participate in hourly rounds and monitor patient conditions.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with transfers in wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms, beds, and equipment; restock supplies.

Education

3+ years of related work experience

BLS certification within 90 days

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
