Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Gulf Coast in Gulfport, MS is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) to join our inpatient post-ICU care team. You will assist with bathing, mobility, and daily rounds to support patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years of related healthcare experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing and grooming using basin-less products.
• Conduct hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving patients.
• Clean and maintain patient rooms and equipment.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation: $15.30 - $18.65 per hour (based on experience)

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
