Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Gulf Coast (Gulfport) is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant (NA) to join our team on day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM). The role supports post-ICU patients with everyday care, from bathing to mobility, under supervision. We offer growth opportunities, ongoing education, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or 3+ years’ experience and BLS within 90 days. Hospital NA experience or CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience (3+ years) required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA-related certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing using basin-less methods and provide oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care.
• Conduct hourly rounds to monitor patients and respond to calls.
• Assist with patient transport to treatment areas and move patients in wheelchairs or stretchers as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans and urinals.
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked; manage unit supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day Shift, 12-hour)Compensation: $15.30 - $18.65 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
