Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital – Jackson, MS is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/per diem night shifts in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes compassionate care, assisting with bathing, hygiene, mobility, and daily needs.

Qualifications

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or related field.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant).
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
