Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Wilmington in Wilmington, DE seeks a Nursing Assistant (NA) for per diem day shifts (12 hours). Compensation is $24.00 per hour with weekend differentials, plus a thorough orientation to help you transition into our inpatient post-ICU care setting.

You will assist with bathing, oral care, feeding, rounds, transportation, and room/ equipment upkeep, while supporting safety and comfort of patients. Requires CNA certification or related experience and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 3+ years related work experience.
• Nursing Assistant certification or related field (i.e. medical assistant) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing, oral hygiene, feeding and hair care for patients.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain stock levels of supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair

• Participate in hourly rounds

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs

• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs

• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition

• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
