Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Harrisburg is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem shifts with 12-hour rotations. The role offers $20.00 per hour and opportunities to advance into full-time roles as openings arise.

The hospital focuses on compassionate care for chronically ill patients recovering from critical illness. The NA will perform basic patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and participate in rounds to ensure patient well-being, safety, and comfort while

Qualifications

• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification, or related medical field experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basinless products and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs and safety.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments, bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked per unit guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin‑less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
