Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Jackson in Jackson, MS is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to join our dedicated care team on a full-time Day Shift. You will perform patient care tasks including bathing, oral hygiene, and mobility assistance, and participate in hourly rounds to ensure comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing, oral hygiene and hygiene care.
• Light housekeeping and maintenance of patient rooms and equipment.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs and comfort.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with transfers as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and stock supplies.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
