Job summary

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital in Harrisburg, PA, part of a UPMC and Select Medical partnership, is hiring a Nursing Assistant for full-time day shifts (7a–7p) with a hourly rate of $19.70–$24.00 and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with daily care, delivering meals, turning immobile patients, responding to calls, and transporting patients between areas. Minimum: BLS or completion within 90 days; preferred HS diploma and CNA experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or completion within 90 days of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience or CNA certification preferred depending on state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assisting patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
• Delivering meals and snacks and documenting intake for patients unable to feed themselves.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients and assisting in mobility programs.
• Answering call lights and performing services to support patient well-being.
• Transporting patients to and from treatment areas.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub and shower), oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience, certification as a nursing assistant preferred (maybe required based on some state requirements)
