Job summary

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, part of a UPMC and Select Medical partnership, seeks a Nursing Assistant in Harrisburg, PA.

The 7p-7a shift is full-time with a $19.70–$24.00/hour compensation and a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with daily patient care, delivering meals, repositioning immobile patients, and transporting patients within the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 3+ years relevant experience
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care)
• Deliver meals and snacks, document oral intake
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist mobility program
• Transport patients to treatment areas within the facility

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• Post offer employment testing (POETs) are completed as part of the onboarding process and are to be completed before an employee's first day of work.*
