Job summary

Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Hummelstown, PA is hiring a Nursing Assistant for a day shift (7a-7p). Compensation ranges from $19.70–$24.00 per hour with pay based on experience and shift differentials for nights and weekends.

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered. The role supports care for patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations and trauma, with extensive orientation and strong benefits to promote health and future

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred hospital experience or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care such as bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients unable to feed themselves and document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility program.
• Transport patients to designated areas, such as to and from treatment centers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
