Job summary

Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. Shifts are 7a-7p, full-time, with a $19.70-$24.00 hourly range and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

You will obtain vital signs, assist patients with daily care, deliver meals, help with mobility, and transport to treatment areas. Minimum qualifications include BLS certification (or completion within 90 days). CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or completion in first 90 days of employment.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assisting patients with daily care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients unable to feed themselves and documenting oral intake.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients and participating in mobility programs.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that support patient well-being.
• Transporting patients to designated areas, such as treatment centers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience, certification as a nursing assistant preferred (maybe required based on some state requirements)
• Post offer employment testing (POETs) are completed as part of the onboarding process and are to be completed before an employee's first day of work.*
