Job summary

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time day shift (12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p) with every 3rd weekend in rotation. Compensation ranges from $19-$24.10/hour plus $2 night shift diff and $1 weekend diff, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

The role focuses on vital signs, daily patient care, meals, mobility, and safe patient handling. A commitment to exceptional patient care is essential, with strong orientation and benefit programs offered.

Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion within 90 days of employment is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience, CNA preferred (may be required by state).

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, grooming).
• Deliver meals and assist patients with feeding and document intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients and assist with mobility.
• Answer call lights and provide services that contribute to patient well-being.
• Transport patients to designated areas and treatment centers.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assisting patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing (bed bath, chair at sink, tub and shower), oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
• Delivering meals and snacks, feeding patients who are unable to feed themselves and documenting oral intake, including supplements.
• Turning and positioning immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participating in mobility program.
• Answering patient call lights and performing services that add to the physical well-being of the patient.
• Transportation of the patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospital experience, certification as a nursing assistant preferred (maybe required based on some state requirements)
