Job summary

Regency Hospital in Portage, IN is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA/CNA) for PRN/Per Diem 12-hour day shifts. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and daily living activities, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Minimum qualifications include a High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years relevant experience) and BLS within 90 days. Hospital CNA experience or certification is preferred.

• HospitaI experience as a nursing assistant, CNA certification, or related field preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-free methods; oral hygiene and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds and assist patient transport when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment; keep rooms neat.
• Manage unit stock levels and assist with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin‑less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (e.g. medical assistant).
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
