Job summary

Select Medical's Columbus South hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for PRN/Per Diem day shifts in Columbus, OH. The NA will provide essential patient care including bathing, meals, and rounds, with opportunities for advancement and orientation to ensure a smooth transition into our setting.

The role requires hospital NA experience or CNA certification, high school diploma or GED, and BLS within 90 days. Part-time/per diem options offer 401k eligibility after 1,000 hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years related work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less methods and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Conduct hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, and equipment.
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked.
• Maintain unit stock levels as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
