Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital CNA experience or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing using basin-less methods and assist with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Care for patients' hair and maintain skin and oral care.
• Participate in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist movement in wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs and other instruments.
• Keep patient rooms clean and organized; restock supplies as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by nursing staff.

Education

High school diploma or GED

3+ years relevant work experience

BLS certification within 90 days of hire

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs

• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
