Job summary

Select Medical in Evansville, IN is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/per diem roles with 12-hour shifts, day and night coverage. Compensation includes $20.00/hr plus night and weekend differential and a $1,250 sign-on bonus.

A strong orientation program and opportunities for advancement support career growth. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (or 3+ years of related experience), CNA certification or hospital NA experience, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience (3+ years)
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification preferred
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care
• Conduct hourly rounds and monitor patient needs
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with moving patients in wheelchairs or stretchers
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs)
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked with supplies as directed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
