Job summary

UNC Health Johnston is seeking a Nursing Assistant I on the 3rd Floor Medical/Surgical unit in Smithfield, NC. The position offers full-time hours with 3x12-hour shifts, day and night rotations, and a $5,000 commitment incentive paid over three years through UNC Health Johnston Incentive Program.

Ideal candidate will have NC Nursing Assistant I licensure, BLS certification, and at least 6 months of CNA experience. English fluency and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Nursing Assistant I (NC)
• BLS certification required
• 6 months nursing assistant experience preferred
• Fluent in English; basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Observes, collects, and documents patient information and reports changes to RN/physician.
• Support patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments per plan of care including vital signs, measurements, wound care, and activities of daily living.
• Indirect care: clean work areas, restock supplies, transport patients, assist with orientation of new staff.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials.
