Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for the Rex UNC 6 East Flex Unit in Raleigh, NC. This full-time, onsite role offers 36 hours per week and a pay range of $18.00–$24.66 per hour with the standard daytime schedule.

The position requires six months of nursing assistant experience, NC Nursing Assistant I licensure, and BLS certification. Fluency in English and basic computer skills are essential. An incentive of $5,000 is available.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English and able to develop basic computer skills.
• Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Aid patients in reality orientation, participate in behavior modification plans/therapy, and provide informal support to patients/families.
• Observe and document patient information and report changes to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care and treatments per plan of care including vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, ROM exercises, and activities of daily living.
• Provide indirect care like cleaning, linen changes, restocking supplies, and transport of patients and materials.
• Reinforce teaching and distribute patient education materials as directed.
