Job summary

UNC Health Johnston seeks a Nursing Assistant I to provide routine direct and indirect patient care under RN/physician supervision in hospital, clinic, or home health settings. The FLEX department allows floating to multiple campuses with 12-hour shifts; weekends and holidays required.

Qualified applicants may receive a $5,000 commitment incentive paid over three years. Employment is onsite in Smithfield, NC, with opportunities to join a team of 56,000+ teammates dedicated to community health.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Able to develop basic computer skills.
• Preferred six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in reality orientation and behavior modification plans.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report changes to RN/physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care/treatments per plan of care: vital signs, wound care, glucose checks, ROM, etc.
• Provide direct personal care for activities of daily living.
