Job summary

ECU Health Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant II to perform nursing support duties under a licensed nurse. The CNAs may assist in observer roles, monitor patients, and participate in unit activities as part of patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is preferred or higher.
• Active NAI listing with NC DHHS is required.
• Active NAII listing with NC Board of Nursing is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training must be completed within 90 days of employment if not current at hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality Improvement (QI) activities, problem solving, data collection and cost savings initiatives.
• Attends staff development programs and participates in orientation of new staff and students.
• Follows hospital policies; provides quality patient care and maintains licensure.
• Builds interpersonal relations, communicates effectively, and supports teamwork.
• Participates in unit and hospital goal setting and promotes cost-effective use of equipment and supplies.
• Under supervision of a licensed nurse, assists in direct patient care and delegated skills per NC regulations.
• With appropriate training, may perform other duties such as EKGs, phlebotomy, venipuncture, admissions, transport and discharge.
• Monitors patients for escalating behaviors and maintains plan-of-care communication with care team; documents in the medical record.
