Job summary

ECU Health seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse on the night shift. The NAII supports unit operations and may participate in observer roles for patient monitoring in a designated unit.

Responsibilities include patient care, adherence to infection control, quality improvement participation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe, compassionate, and efficient service.

Qualifications

• Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
• Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training required or must complete within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality improvement activities and data collection to enhance patient care.
• Provides direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse and adheres to policies.
• Maintains licensure requirements and supports teamwork across shifts.
• Monitors patients and communicates effectively with the care team; documents appropriately.
